Abstract

Genotypes at 18 allozyme loci were determined for all clones and their half-sib embryo families in a clonal seed orchard of Scots pine. The proportion of pollen gametes with genotypes that could not have been produced by parental clones was determined and used as a minimum estimate of external pollen contamination. We found that 37.8% of analysed embryos were fertilised by external pollen.
